William E. Barnaby III's Bio
William E. Barnaby III (Bill Jr.) has been in and around politics since birth. He was born in Washington, D.C., while his father worked for the U.S. House of Representatives. Moving to Sacramento as an infant with his mother, Jean (Sanchez) Barnaby – a native Sacramentan, he started working in political campaigns with his politically active parents as a toddler. Sometimes voluntarily, sometimes not. His volunteer work in political campaigns and issues continued until he started night law school in 1994, but his interest in politics has never waned. His volunteer campaign work was bipartisan and spanned the political spectrum – from the very liberal to the very conservative, but always for candidates he personally liked.

While attending Sacramento High School and during his undergraduate studies he worked part time in the lobbying firm then run by his Bill Sr. as the lobbyist and Jean as the office manager. After completing his undergraduate studies at Saint Mary's College of California, he joined the firm full time in 1991. Bill Jr. holds a B.A. degree from St. Mary’s in Government.

In late 1994 Bill Jr. put his campaign volunteer work on hold and started law studies at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento, where he met his wife Kristine, now a deputy district attorney in California. Bill Jr. holds a J.D. degree from Lincoln and passed the bar exam with his wife in 2000. Besides lobbying and practicing law, he has served as an association manager for a former client of the firm.

Bill Jr. has been admitted to practice law before the state and federal courts in California since 2000.
